Nestled in the beautiful hills east of Bath, our English vineyard, planted in May 2023, is taking root. We are thrilled to share this incredible venture with you!
About usChardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier are the stars of our vineyard. They have coped with the unusual British weather since planting, and we're busy ensuring they thrive. We are expecting our first harvest in Autumn 2025, but will have local Somerset wine to sell under our Tennygrove brand from Spring 2025.
Sitting just to the north-east of Bath, Tennygrove Vineyard was inspired by watching the movie 'A Good Year' at least annually for the last decade. When Ally and Rupert found themselves with land to spare at their farm with south-facing slopes and rich, loamy soil, there was no option but to plant vines. Tennygrove is poised to produce exceptional grapes that to produce English Sparkling Wine and Rose.
Managed by a team of experienced viticulturists, Tennygrove Vineyard is just entering its second growing season, and we are working carefully to preserve the natural beauty and fertility of the land. From careful soil management to precise pruning and harvesting techniques, every step of the process is designed to maximize the potential of the grapes and produce wines that truly showcase the unique terroir of Somerset.
As the vines mature, we look forward to sharing the fruits of our labour with you!

Mark your calendars for Spring 2025 when our prequel Tennygrove branded local Somerset Sparkling will be available for purchase and tastings. In the meantime, we are looking forward to our first harvest in Autumn 2025, when we'll finally get picking and get some of our own grapes into tanks ready for the magic to happen. With a lot of hard work and some good English weather, we're anticipating some seriously amazing sparkling and still English wines.
If you'd like to share in our dream of helping in an English vineyard, we would love you to join us! Whether it is just for a day at harvest in October, or joining our monthly vineyard mornings, we would love to see you!
We meet on the first Friday of each month, 930-1230, where you will get some basic viticulture training, understand the seasons of growing and pruning vines, and get your hands dirty out in the vineyard. We promise coffee and biscuits to keep you going!
